This award-winning family attraction, known as 'At Bristol', is situated in the heart of the harbourside area. Funded by the National Lottery and opened in 2000, At Bristol cost in excess of GBP 100 million and has a number of different, impressive attractions for tourists and visitors.

The large At Bristol complex also features many special events throughout the year. Attractions include the Explore area, the IMAX cinema, the Blue Reef Aquarium, a Planetarium, cafés, bars, restaurants, a large car parking area, and many exciting, interactive displays and exhibits.

Explore At Bristol is the city's most impressive, interactive science museum, with four-themed zones covering the history of technology, brainpower, global communication and the Curiosity Zone, which features other fascinating information about the planet, such as the science of weather and sound. Attractions in the Explore area include the Orange Imaginarium Planetarium, which is a large stainless steel sphere where you can journey through the solar system, or explore Bristol's night sky using state-of-the-art equipment, a display where you can experience being in the centre of a tornado, and the 'Move It' section, which explains how we can harness the powers of nature through technology and science.

The At Bristol IMAX cinema screen tourist attraction is a 350-seat auditorium with the largest cinema screen in the west. This cinema is the ultimate movie experience and transports viewers from the theatre into the heart of the action, as though you are part of the film itself. With the latest state-of-the-art digital surround sound system, regular films include exploring the wreck of the Titanic, space exploration and dinosaurs.

The cinema screen itself is around four-stories high and features cutting-edge technology, in both 2D and 3D format. With amazing 3D technology at the IMAX cinema, special glasses make you think that you can actually reach out at touch the characters in the film.
